MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Two people were killed in a crash on Day Road near Home Street Tuesday morning.
At approximately 4:18 a.m., the driver of a Pontiac lost control while driving westbound on Day Road and struck a Lay's truck, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.
The passenger in the Pontiac, 17-year-old Anthony Willocks, died at the scene.
The driver of the Pontiac, 21-year-old Nancy Pierson, was taken to the hospital in serious condition and later died.
The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was activated and is investigating.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
