One dead after a crash involving a semi-truck

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Deputies of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash at 2:06 p.m. on Thursday on Rangeline Road in Buchanan Township that killed one person.

Police say a vehicle was traveling south on Rangeline Road before colliding with a semi-truck that was parked on the southbound lane with its flashers on.

The vehicle rear ended the semi which resulted in the death of the passenger, a 32-year-old woman from Berrien Springs, police say.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The collision remains under investigation by the Berrien County Accident Investigation team.
