SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A 27-year-old Ohio man is heading to prison after he was caught with over 700 grams of pure methamphetamine and over 40 grams of fentanyl in his car while traveling on the Indiana Toll Road.

Authorities say Kortney Moore, of West Akron, Ohio, was sentenced by United States District Court to 198 months incarceration followed by five years of supervised release after pleading guilty to possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

According to court documents, in February 2024, Moore, who was on federal supervised release, had been traveling from Ohio to North Dakota and was on the Indiana Toll Road when law enforcement stopped him in and recovered the drugs.

Authorities say Moore has prior felony convictions for attempted possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of a loaded illegal machinegun as a convicted felon.
