Officials respond to fire in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Crews are working to figure out the cause of a house fire in Elkhart County.

Fire crews from three different departments responded to a house fire on Vista Lane near Concord Mall. The call came in around 10 p.m. Tuesday evening.

When they arrived, flames were shooting out of the home.  It took them about 15 minutes to get things under control.

There were no injuries reported.  Firefighters say there was no one inside at the time, and neighbors told investigators they thought the regular occupant had been living somewhere else.

Firefighters told ABC57 parts of the home were badly burned, but couldn't yet put a dollar amount on the damage.  No word yet on what sparked the blaze.
