ELKHART, Ind. -- Oaklawn will be hosting auditions for their first annual “Oaklawn’s Got Talent” competition on November 14 at the Lerner Theater.

Of the 30 people who will get to audition on November 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the top four acts will be invited to perform again at the Lerner Theater on May 20 at 7 p.m.

This new talent show competition is Oaklawn's fundraising opportunity that will replace their annual “Spring Spectacular” event.

“Coming back, we wanted something new and fresh, but also something that would feature talent from right here in our community. This way, we can spotlight and award local talent while also funding mental health and addiction services,” said Kari Tarman, Executive Director of the Oaklawn Foundation.

A panel of judges, who will not criticize or critique any talent acts, will decide the four acts that will advance and also place each of the four during the May 20 event.

Each of the four acts who advance will win a cash prize: $4,000 for first place, $2,500 for second, $1,000 for third and $500 for fourth.

Anyone living in Elkhart County or St. Joseph County is eligible to apply for the talent show by submitting an application that outlines the talent that will be performed.

Audition applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on November 5.
