On the first day of spring, cold winter winds whipped through debris after an EF0 tornado with winds of 80-85 mph tore through Fulton County Wednesday evening.

Downed trees fill Ethel Wood’s front yard. She was watching TV when the storms started.

“Pretty soon I heard debris on my window, and then a loud boom at the corner of my bedroom,” Wood said. “Oh, boy, this is it.”

Wood was flabbergasted when she finally got a full view of the damage.

“I just couldn’t believe all of that was because of something so quick.”

While major cleanup awaits her, Wood said she’s thankful that the trees missed her house and that no one was injured.

“We’re all very fortunate,” Wood said. “Our angel was watching over us.”
