SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Third ranked Notre Dame Women's Basketball Team is back in action tomorrow night at Purcell Pavillion and getting a key player back for the game against Georgia Tech, but Head Coach Niele Ivey was also talking football today.
Ivey and Freeman have been supporting each other at games throughout their tenure at Notre Dame.
In fact, Ivey says she plans to be in Atlanta inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium to support the football team as they make history.
"The expectation is so high for him and that the biggest job in the world for that being his first head coaching job, it was the same for me, first time being a first-time head coach, taking over Notre Dame women's basketball. So we always talk about the magnitude of it, but knowing him and his character and having a friendship with him is just like he was the right person for it, and this is proof that he was ready for it, and what he's done is just phenomenal, and it's a credit to his work ethic, but who he is as a person, right," stated Ivey.
Ivey and her team have two games before Monday's National Championship.
The Irish host Georgia Tech Tomorrow at 6 p.m. and SMU Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
