Notre Dame wins over Rutgers in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. --- Notre Dame and Rutgers both had a hard time getting into the end zone, but Notre Dame won 29-16 over Rutgers.


Notre Dame kicker Kyle Brindza made five of six field goals.  Rutgers kicker Kyle Federico made all three of his field goals.


Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees threw for 319 yards and completed 27 of his 47 passing attempts.  


He didn't throw a touchdown pass.


Rutgers quarterback Chas Dodd threw one touchdown, 156 yards and completed ten of his 28 attempts.


Irish wide receiver TJ Jones and running back Tarean Folston ran in the two touchdowns.
