Notre Dame to face Texas for home-and-home series in 2028, 2029
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Notre Dame announced on Tuesday that the Athletic Department has finalized a deal that will add the University of Texas to the Fighting Irish football schedule in 2028 and 2029.
The Longhorns will visit Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 9, 2028, and the Irish will travel to Austin on Sept. 22, 2029.
According to Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish hold a 9-3 record all-time with Texas, owning a 3-1 lead at home and 4-1 record on the road, with a 2-1 record at neutral sites.
In the last the home-and-home series between these two teams, each program held home court and won on their own fields.
Notre Dame trounced Texas on Sept. 5, 2015, by a score of 38-3, Texas answered in 2016 with a narrow 50-47 win in double overtime.
