SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Notre Dame Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Brey hosted the annual “Coaches vs. Cancer” gala on Monday, an event that raises money for cancer research while honoring the American Cancer Society.
The event took place in the Purcell Pavilian on Notre Dame’s campus.
Over 400 people attended. The evening is considered to be a celebration of hope.
“It’s always an exciting couple days for me and I’m really appreciative of the South Bend Michiana community, how they’ve come out and supported us,” Brey said. “So I think we’re about 19 years in, over three million dollars we’ve raised to fight cancer.”
A golf outing at Blackthorn Gold Club is scheduled for Tuesday.
All of the proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
