NOTRE DAME, Ind. –The Notre Dame baseball team is under new leadership.
Link Jarrett was formally introduced Monday as the 21st head coach in Notre Dame History.
Jarrett replaces Mik Aoki, who was at the helm for nine seasons.
The task for the new coach is simple, turn around a program that hasn’t had a winning season since 2015.
Jarrett, who built a winning team at UNC-Greensboro, is hoping to do the same in South Bend.
He says tradition alone made it an easy choice to come to Notre Dame.
“It represents elite class and performance in all areas. That’s what I think of when I put this hat on. These guys are hungry. They are hungry to win and that’s essentially what I was brought here to do,” Jarrett said.
Jarrett played college baseball at Florida State and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 1994.
