Notre Dame looks forward to correcting last year's mistakes vs Louisville
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Irish know what they're up against vs. Louisville after last year's upset.
As the Irish sit on a 3-1 record and a two-game win streak, they know whose knocking at their door in week five.
"The players that have been here for that game last year, we already knew, and we took it to heart," Defensive Lineman Junior Tuihalamaka said.
Notre Dame had trouble stopping the run game and it's an area third year Defensive Coordinator Al Golden wants to be better in, considering the 185 yards and two touchdowns the Irish gave up to the Cardinals.
"Be better in the run game and be better in our tackling than we were a year ago. No doubt about it, they present a great challenge. Stable of running backs, big backs, elusive backs, backs that can take it the distance," Golden added.
"They still have a great running back outlook from the one, two and threes. I just can see them still running the ball as they were last season," Tuihalamaka mentioned.
Dominating the line of scrimmage will be the goal for the Irish and if executed properly, it should bring success to the offense.
"Their whole defensive line, I think, does a really, really good job of controlling the line of scrimmage, and that's going to be a key to the game for us. I mean, we're an offensive line driven program. We've got to win the line of scrimmage, and that's a key to winning the game," Offensive Coordinator Mike Denbrock said.
