Notre Dame football not satisfied with 52-3 win against Florida State
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Head Coach Marcus Freeman is still chasing perfection, after a 52-3 win over Florida State.
After handing Florida State their biggest loss of their 1-9 season, there's apparently more in the tank for the eighth ranked Irish.
"I want them to enjoy success like I don't want Notre Dame, our football program, to be a place that's miserable after you have a great win, like we did. But there's also a part of me that, you know, I want to be greedy, like, this isn't good enough," Freeman said.
Who would've thought a 49-point win wouldn't be enough for a team that was successful in all three phases of the game.
"This isn't the standard. We got attack and we got to fix it. Great job. You guys played well on Saturday. I'm proud of you guys. Great job, but here's what we got to focus on and improve," Freeman added.
453 yards of total offense, no turnovers, and two interceptions. But Freeman is chasing perfection.
"It was good in all three phases. A lot of good. Wasn't perfect. We want perfect. You know, we strive for perfection," Freeman mentioned.
"Often you're evaluated based off outcomes and big pictures, but the details are what matter. Every play matters and you know what? Riley might have had a 40-yard rushing touchdown, but hold on, did everybody on that play get your job done. Don't look at Riley scoring a touchdown, right? Did you get your block? Did you get your block," Freeman added.
