Notre Dame football game against Wake Forest cancelled
The ACC has announced changes to the end of the regular season, which includes the cancellation of the Wake Forest game because Notre Dame is in contention for the championship game.
The ACC says the league’s athletic directors “voted to preserve the integrity of the ACC Football Championship game by evaluating each of the three teams in contention (Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame) based on a nine-game conference schedule.”
They said Clemson and Notre Dame’s regular seasons will conclude this weekend.
Based on current standings, the ACC says Notre Dame has secured a berth in the championship game.
Wake Forest will now play Louisville on December 12 instead of Notre Dame.
There will also be adjustments to the testing of football teams. Each team must submit to PCR tests on Thursday with a result before the traveling team arrives to the location.
