Notre Dame defense shows big improvement in win over Boise State
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Fighting Irish made it three straight wins, defeating Boise State 28–7 at Notre Dame Stadium in front of a packed crowd and a golden sunset.
The Irish defense stole the show, forcing four turnovers — two interceptions from Leonard Moore, one from Luke Talich, and Tae Johnson. Moore’s return from injury made an immediate impact, helping Notre Dame hold Boise State to just seven points, the fewest allowed by the Irish this season.
Linebacker Kingston Viliamu-Asa led the defense with eight tackles, while Jaiden Ausberry added key stops in the second half as the front seven consistently pressured Boise State’s quarterback. The defensive line tallied four sacks and limited the Broncos to under 100 rushing yards.
Wide receiver Jordan Faison was explosive, hauling in six catches for 83 yards, averaging nearly 14 yards per reception. In the backfield, Jeremiyah Love punched in a short touchdown, while Jadarian Price broke loose for a 49-yard score, shaking off defenders to seal the win in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback CJ Carr finished with a modest 189 passing yards, completing 15 of 23 attempts with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Despite occasional misfires, he managed the game efficiently and avoided costly mistakes.
Notre Dame improves to 3–2 on the season, looking to extend their winning streak next week against NC State as the defense continues to find its stride and the offense looks to clean up its discipline.
