Notre Dame defense ready for season opener

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -

Notre Dame's defense is getting ready for the season opener against Texas.

Nyles Morgan is expected to take the middle linebacker spot and lead the defense this year.

Safety Max Redfield already told ABC 57 Morgan is turning into quite the leader.

The team just returned to campus after a week at Culver Academies.
“Camp can be grueling as everyone knows. It’s about bringing this group together because we feel like if we play at our highest level this year, we can really help the team and compete for a National Championship. It’s about just coming together as a unit every day in practice and continue to have that focus,” said Nick Coleman, defensive back.
