Niles police investigating armed robbery at Check Into Cash

NILES, Mich. -- Niles Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Check Into Cash store on S. 11th Street.

Police said they received a hold up alarm at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday from the store.

A few seconds later, they received a 9-1-1 call reporting a robbery at the same location.

Niles Police responded to the scene and deputies from the Berrien County Sheriff's Department and officers with the Michigan State Police assisted in a search of the area for the suspect.

Employees told police the man entered the store with a gun and the gun was fired inside the store. Police do not know if the gun was fired accidentally or intentionally.

There were no injuries.
