NILES, Mich -- City officials in Niles have decided to maintain current operating hours for marijuana businesses, opting against immediate changes after reviewing several proposals. During the meeting Monday evening the City Council considered multiple options, including allowing dispensaries to set their own hours or operate 24/7.
However, most members opposed giving businesses full control over their schedules. While the idea of 24-hour cannabis operations hasn't been ruled out entirely, officials said they prefer to keep the current structure in place for now.
The council plans to monitor how the industry continues to operate under existing regulations before potentially expanding business hours.
