Niles Community Schools hosting pop-up libraries all summer

NILES, Mich. -- Niles Community Schools is encouraging students to keep reading throughout the summer with its pop-up libraries and free lunches for students.

"The pop-up libraries were created to combat learning loss during the summer break, as the average student can lose anywhere from 17-34 percent of the prior year’s learning gains during the summer months," Niles Community Schools said.

  • Thursday, June 20 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Niles-Buchanan YMCA, 905 Front St.
  • Tuesday, June 25 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Niles-Ballard Elementary,1601 Chicago Road
  • Thursday, June 27 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Niles Administration & Education Center,1 Tyler St.
  • Tuesday, July 16 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Eastside Connections School, 315 N 14th Street
  • Thursday, July 25 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Niles-Buchanan YMCA, 905 Front St.
  • Tuesday, July 30 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Howard-Ellis Elementary, 2788 Mannix Street
  • Thursday, August 8 from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at Niles High School, 1441 Eagle St.
