Burglary suspects use company truck to break gate, steal multiple items

ELKHART, Ind. -- Police say two male suspects stole multiple items on Sunday from locations owned by the American Cargo Group in Mishawaka.

According to reports, on the morning of Feb. 26, an officer responded to a call at 1520 Mishawaka Rd. where they met with the general manager of American Cargo Group who reported damage to a security gate on the east side of the business property.

"Two unknown male subjects allegedly used a company Ford pickup to ram and break down the gate," Elkhart police said. "Unknown subjects allegedly stole this vehicle as well as a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with an attached snowplow and salt spreader (occurring between approximately 7:45 a.m. 9 p.m. on Sunday). The vehicles had been parked over at another facility, Wells Cargo at 1503 McNaughton Ave."

Police say the suspects also allegedly broke several locks and took multiple items from the Wells Cargo property without permission, including multiple cordless power tools, a backpack blower, string trimmers, televisions, reels of wire, and other toolboxes.
