New Song Church hosts food drive Saturday in Plymouth
New Song Church PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The Plymouth-based New Song Church is hosting a food drive Saturday to support local food pantries in the wake of the SNAP pause.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., New Song Church will look to filling a U-Haul at the Martin's Supermarket parking lot at 865 E Jefferson Street in Plymouth Saturday.
The food drive is looking for cereal, peanut butter and jelly, canned or dry soups, canned fruit and vegetables, spaghetti sauce, pasta and ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese, Hamburger Helper and other box dinners, pancake mix and syrup, cake and cookie mixes and frosting, baby food and formula, coffee, juice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, cookies, crackers, beans, rice, and canned meats like tuna.
Outside of food items, the drive is also looking for toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels and napkins, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, bar and dish soap, laundry detergent, diapers and wipes, adult diapers, and household cleaners.
All of the food will stay in the Plymouth community, focusing on the Blessings in a Backpack program with local schools, which sends care packages home with students who struggle to eat during weekends.
