MISHAWAKA, Ind. - After six years, Mishawaka finally breaks ground for a new indoor athletic facility.
Work has begun on a new 222,000 square foot indoor athletic facility, located just off Veterans Parkway near the Juday Creek Golf Course.
The new facility will include ten courts for different sports, two turf fields, concessions, bleachers, and a medical space.
Community leaders already have big plans for the new facility.
Dave Wood, Mishawaka Mayor, stated, "We are ideally suited to attract this kind of new market to Mishawaka, because we are already kind of the regional leader for retail, restaurants, hotels and things that can support this kind of a project. so today, We are breaking ground for a fieldhouse that will bring literally thousands of people to the Princess City for the first time and to our region for the first time."
Work on the construction will continue for the rest of the year, and developers hope to done and fully operational by the end of 2024.
