When do we see our last dusting of snow?
EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- The Edwardsburg Fire Department says there have been reports from local residents regarding a strong odor of natural gas and unusual noise in the area of M 62 and US 12.
At this time, the odor and noise are not the result of a natural gas leak. The gas distribution system in the area is currently operating at a higher capacity than normal, which requires the use of additional odorant in the natural gas supply and the above-ground gas valves may be producing more noise. This can cause the gas smell to be stronger and more noticeable than usual.
SEMCO Energy Gas Company crews are actively in the area and are monitoring the situation to ensure system safety and proper operation. The Edwardsburg Fire Department will continue to coordinate with SEMCO and monitor conditions closely. If the situation changes, updates will be provided.
