Narcotics investigation leads to previously deported felon being arrested

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office reports a joint investigation by them and the Indiana State Police led to the arrest of 41-year-old Julio Rangel Jimenez on Monday.
Authorities say Jimenez is an illegal immigrant previously deported earlier this year.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop near C.R. 350 E and C.R. 550 N. During the stop, K-9 Agi from the sheriff's office alerted law enforcement to the presence of narcotics.
The report states during the subsequent search, Jimenez was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine.
Deputies say further investigation led narcotics officers to a residence where Jimenez had been staying.
Law enforcement searched that property and discovered additional suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, three firearms, and $10,900 in U.S. currency.
Jimenez was taken into custody and transported to Fulton County Jail.
Jimenez is charged with Dealing in Cocaine, a Level 2 Felony, and Possession of Cocaine, a Level 3 Felony.
His bond is currently set at $50,000, and a Department of Homeland Security detainer has been placed on him.
Records show Jimenez was arrested on similar charges in February and was deported by DHS.
This investigation is ongoing.
