Motorcycle and car crash leave two dead near Quince Road

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.  – The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team was activated for a crash involving a motorcycle and passenger vehicle on U.S. 20 west of Quince Road.

It happened on Saturday just after 3:00 p.m.

According to officials, the driver of the passenger vehicle, 45-year-old Thongkhoun M. Phommaha, of South Bend, was travelling eastbound and crossed the centerline in the path of the motorcycle, which was driven by 59-year-old Mark E. Pierce, of South Bend.

Pierce and his passenger, 54-year-old Jane M. Ryall, also of South Bend, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Phommaha cooperated with investigators. He sustained minor injuries and was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.
