Morris Performing Arts Center announces anniversary celebration line-up
Rendering of Morris renovations. Photo courtesy: Morris Performing Arts Center/City of South Bend SOUTH BEND, Ind. – 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the Morris Performing Arts Center and the theatre and the city of South Bend are celebrating with a line-up of events to mark the occasion.
Celebrations include:
- January 7, 2022 – Morris Open House, where the community can take tours of the theater and take a look at new décor and other recent updates.
- September 30 – October 1, 2022 – Downtown Community Celebration, a free, multi-day outdoor festival with food, music, and other entertainment. Community members can also take a tour of the theater’s renovations and a enjoy special headlining act.
- November 2, 2022 – Morris 100th Anniversary
All events will take place at the Morris.
“The Morris’ history is a display of our community’s commitment to arts, culture, and growth. By preserving this remarkable gem for the last 100 years, our greatest hope is that a new generation will be inspired to dream and to create in the very place that generations before them did,” said Executive Director of Venues, Jeff Jarnecke.
Residents can also visit the theater’s social media pages throughout the celebration for Morris Moments, a series highlighting the people, performances, and history that make the Morris what it is.
