More sunshine tomorrow, but watching for a severe risk on Tuesday

NOW: More sunshine tomorrow, but watching for a severe risk on Tuesday

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Sunday, April 14, 2024

Highs are in the mid to upper 70s this evening with some areas south of US-30 hitting 80F today. We'll gradually start to cool off later tonight into the mid 40s with breezy conditions. Expect Monday to be a similar profile to today except slightly cooler in the lower 70s rather than the upper 70s. Skies become cloudier Monday night as a center of low pressure approaches from the west. Temperatures stay mild on Tuesday yet again, but showers begin early right around the morning commute time. Expect consistent rain all day until the evening and overnight hours, when showers turn to thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. The severe risk is currently Tuesday overnight into early Wednesday morning, but the risk itself has not increased since yesterday. Confidence is growing that the main concerns will be heavy rain and some flooding, especially near riverbanks, although nothing is off the table. Expect moderate rain for most of Wednesday as a cold front pushes through in the afternoon, dropping our temperatures for the rest of the week. We finally dry out on Thursday and Friday.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Low 45.

Monday: Mostly sunny. High 73.

Tuesday: Showers, then thunderstorms later. BreezyHigh 72.

Wednesday: Rain. High 74.
