MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The City of Mishawaka is encouraging residents to gather any remaining yard leaves for collection during the one-week leaf pickup program that begins Monday.

City officials say pickup will take place the day before residents' regular trash collection.

"Please have leaves at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on that day," a city spokesperson said.

"Leaves should be placed in loose piles only (not bagged), and positioned away from storm drains, parked vehicles, or other obstructions. No brush, limbs, or yard waste other than leaves will be collected during this pickup."
