Michigan State Police patrolling for distracted drivers on I-94 starting March 26

ABC 57

NEW BUFFALO, Mich, -- Beginning Wednesday, March 26, law enforcement across Michigan will unite to target distracted driving on I-94 from New Buffalo to Port Huron.

Authorities say Michigan State Police, sheriff's departments, and local police will increase patrols to focus on drivers texting, eating, or engaging in other distractions while driving.

"Agencies will also educate drivers on distracted driving risks during stops and via media," MSP said. "Partnering with the Kieffer Foundation, this initiative precedes Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April."
