Michigan man arrested driving stolen ATV, also charged with possession of meth

ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office is reporting the recovery of a stolen ATV on Wednesday night, as well as the arrest of the driver after meth and other drug paraphernalia were found during the stop.
"Deputies were on patrol in the area of the 32000 block of Ewing Rd in Antwerp Township (near Lawton) when they observed an ATV being driven on the roadway," the VBCSO said.
"The deputy performed a traffic stop on the male driver of the ATV. During contact with the driver, it was determined that he had a suspended driver's license. Further investigation of the ATV determined that it had recently been reported stolen. The suspect was placed in custody and during a search incident to arrest, methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia were located."
The suspect, a 38-year-old Lawton man, was arrested and lodged Van Buren County Jail at the end of the traffic stop, which began around 7:55 p.m.
Authorities say the investigation into the stolen ATV is still ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the VBCSO.
