Michigan lifts COVID-19 restrictions including gathering limits, mask requirement

DETROIT— Governor Gretchen Whitmer held a press conference on Tuesday as the state lifted its COVID-19 restrictions.

Whitmer spoke from Detroit’s Belle Isle alongside of Dr. Joneigh Khladun, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist.

Capacity in both indoor and outdoor settings has increased to 100%, meaning restaurants and entertainment businesses can now operate at full occupancy. 

The state will no longer require residents to wear a face mask.
