Michigan reports 1,709,593 total cases of COVID-19, 28,228 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 28,458 new cases* of COVID-19, and 350 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Tuesday & Wednesday). The average number of new cases is 14,229 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 282 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has a total of 1,709,593 COVID-19 cases, 28,228 deaths, 1,342,025 recovered, and 11,060,003 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 25,487 confirmed cases, 399 deaths, 157,056 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 8,212 cases, 108 deaths, 37,653 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  10,090 cases, 143 deaths, 50,437 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 13,150 cases, 205 deaths, 81,927 vaccine doses administered
