Michiana prepares for icy road conditions

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- ABC57's Jackie Bauer was live tonight at the site of a 12-car pileup that shut down that bypass last month, and she spoke with authorities to see what they are doing, and what they are advising drivers to do, to help avoid a similar situation this week.

“If the ice does come, late tonight early tomorrow morning our operations are going to be normal like any other day," sdaid Sgt. Aris Lee of the St. Joseph County Police Department.

"If you get an option, maybe that’s an option by talking to work I’m not sure what the school situation is going be like tomorrow, but I guess we have to play that by ear early in the morning," Sgt. Lee said.
