Update on Tonight’s Severe Weather Threat
Some people probably thought the writing was on the wall after nine days of 90-degree heat in South Bend during the month of June.
However, rainy weather and cooler air masses have kept temperature out of the 90s for quite a while.
As of Tuesday, temperatures have not hit 90 degrees in South Bend in more than 30 days. We're unlikely to hit that mark for the remaining eight days of July as well.
If we are in fact shutout of 90-degree heat this month, it would be the first time since 2017 that South Bend does not record a 90 during July.
We can't keep the serious heat away forever, though. Warmer-than-normal temperatures appear likely heading into the start of August.
