SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A 36-year-old Mexican national will spend time in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting an ICE officer in February.

The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced Santos Duron Cisneros has been sentenced to 8 months in prison for Assault of a Federal Officer.

Court documents reveal in February an ICE ERO officer was transporting Duron Cisneros and two other individuals when he began physically and verbally assaulting one of the other men.

Documents state Duron Cisneros began resisting the ICE officer when he intervened.

Duron Cisneros then kicked at the officer, who deflected the kick with his hands.

Duron Cisneros is then said to have tried to headbutt the officer.
