SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A new Miss South Bend and Miss South Bend Teen was crowned Sunday afternoon.
The one to pass the sash was ABC57’s Morning Meteorologist, Maci Tetrick at the Miss South Bend Pageant at the Leighton Auditorium Sunday Afternoon.
Marking the end of a 10-year era for Miss Maci.
The Purdue grad has been competing in pageants since she was in high school, before being crowned Miss South Bend in September 2022.
Sunday, she took the stage one last time to sing A Piece of the Sky, by Barbara Streisand, and say her final farewell to pageantry as she handed off her title.
This year contestants were judged based on their performance in a private interview, fitness, talent, and evening wear, plus how they responded to a number of questions.
In the end, North Liberty resident, Rachel Ramos, walked away as the big winner.
She hopes to raise dementia awareness in her new role.
And she has big shoes to fill.
When Maci is not bringing you your morning weather, she has spent the past year and a half volunteering, promoting sustainability across schools, and winning a STEM award at the Miss Indiana Pageant.
“So, you might know me as Meteorologist Maci Tetrick, but for the last day I'm also Miss South Bend. It's a little bit emotional because today's the last day, but I'm excited for whoever is going to get this title,” said Maci ahead of Sunday’s pageant.
