This evening stays chilly, but clouds will start to move in during the evening, and temperatures will stay in the upper 20s. By Monday morning, the big system will start to bring Michiana rain. Freezing rain is possible in the early morning until temperatures warm above freezing, then the rest of the day will be normal showers. Rain showers will taper off during the early evening, which is ideal for NYE plans. However, some rain and wintry mix showers are possible overnight, which could cause more slick spots on roads as people are traveling home from NYE events. Tuesday/New Year’s Day will be colder and some lake effect snow showers are possible, but little to no accumulation is expected.
Tonight: Mostly clear with quickly increasing clouds. Slight chance of rain/freezing rain by early morning. Low of 28.
New Year’s Eve: Cloudy with rain showers. Drier during the evening. High of 40.
New Year’s Day: Cloudy to mostly cloudy with a chance of L.E snow showers. Highs in the low 30s and slowly falling throughout the day.
