Marcus Freeman shares thoughts on upcoming Louisville opponent
SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Notre Dame prepares for a top 20 matchup against a tough Louisville team that sent the Irish packing last year.
The Irish are on a two-game win streak, but Saturday's game is a rematch for the two teams. Louisville won last year's meeting 33 to 20.
Today Head Coach Marcus Freeman talked to the media about what he sees in this year's team and their quarterback, compared to who they were last year.
"I think (Tyler) Shough is a guy that's extremely experienced. He's a big guy, tall, probably not really easy to take down, seen a lot of defenses, and throws a really good deep ball. So again, you're not going to be able to, very similar to the quarterback last week. It's really going to be challenging to confuse them in terms of what you're playing defensively, but it's going to be a challenge to make sure that we're executing at a high level," Freeman said.
The Cardinals are 3-0 coming off a 31-19 victory over Georgia Tech but coming into Notre Dame Stadium Saturday is a different challenge, due to the history.
"You know, it's a good football team. They're hungry, they play hard, they're talented, and they're well coached, and so you prepare for them like you prepare for every other team. It's every week you get an opportunity to play one game, and you got to prepare as best as you can to make sure you give your program a chance to have success on Saturday. So, no different with Louisville. This is a talented football team," Freeman added.
