Man sentenced to 47 years in prison for child molestation charges

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- David Voelkert received a 47-year prison sentence on Wednesday for the two child molesting charges he was found guilty of in November.
Voelkert was sentenced to 35 years for the first charge of child molesting where the defendant is at least 21 years of age. Voelkert was sentenced to 12 years for the second charge of child molesting.
With these sentences being served consecutively, Voelkert will spend 47 years in prison and must become a registered sex-offender for life.
