Man sentenced for string of robberies in St. Joseph County

A Michigan City man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for a string of armed robberies at a drug store, pizzeria and gas stations in St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Demetrius Thomas, 39, was sentenced to 71 months in prison and two y ears supervised release after he pleaded guilty to 5 counts of Hobbs Act Robbery.

Between December 24, 2017 and January 1, 2018, Thomas committed five armed robberies throughout South Bend, Mishawaka and St. Joseph County.
