UPDATE: Man identified and charged with multiple felonies after being stabbed at hotel
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- UPDATE: The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office announced it has filed several charges against DiCaprio Washington in connection with an incident at the Home 2 Suites in Mishawaka.
Washington is charged with Domestic Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 Felony, Strangulation, a Level 6 Felony, Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony, Domestic Battery, a Level 6 Felony, and Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor.
He will be arraigned on Monday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Mishawaka Police Department reports officers responded to a stabbing at the Home 2 Suites at 211 E. Day Rd. around 2:30 a.m., Friday.
Police say there was an argument between a 24-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman.
The report states at some point during the argument the man was stabbed in the hip.
Police say the wound wasn't serious, but he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The man has since been treated and released from the hospital and was subsequently arrested on a felony charge of domestic violence battery criminal confinement.
He is currently at the St. Joseph County Jail.
