ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – One man is recovering after police say he slammed into a car windshield.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of County Road 17 and County Road 20 in Elkhart County, about five miles north of Goshen.
Deputies say 36-year-old Vernon Helmuth pulled over to the shoulder of the road after his tires went flat and that's when 29-year-old Anthony Rodriguez rear-ended him.
Rodriguez was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown into his windshield.
Officers say he had cuts to his head and face.
