MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office reports deputies were called to the West Shore Apartments around 6:43 a.m., Sunday, for a domestic fight in progress.

When deputies arrived, they located a battered woman.

The report states there were also three small children present, living in poor conditions.

The suspect on scene was identified as Michael L. Carver of Bremen.

The report states Carver had a difficult time taking orders from deputies and was taken into custody.

Authorities say THC vape cartridges were found on Carver.

EMS was called to the scene due to sustained injuries.

Carver was then booked into the Marshall County Jail.

Carver is charged with Domestic Battery, Domestic Battery with presence of a child under 16, Domestic Battery Causing Injury, Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Strangulation, Neglect of a Dependent, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia.

Carver was given a court date and a cash bond of $5,000.
