Local school goes on brief lockdown after teacher enters wrong code
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- Students at Triton Jr. Sr. High School were never in any danger on Monday, but the school was forced into a brief lockdown this afternoon.
"Triton Jr. Sr. High School was placed on a lockdown at approx. 2 p.m. today," school officials announced on social media.
"This wasn’t a planned drill nor were students in danger at any time. The lockdown was called in from a classroom by accident when entering an emergency code in place of another teacher’s phone extension. Once the lockdown was announced, administration along with our SRO looked into the situation and discovered that the wrong number had been used. Students and staff reacted quickly and appropriately and followed our emergency procedures."
School resumed shortly after, and the rest of the day continued as planned.
