Local police warn of slick roads in the area Thursday

St Joesph County Police Department

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St Joseph County Police Department is warning the community of slippery and slick roads this morning due to heavy snowfall Wednesday night.

In a post on Facebook this morning the department says "The morning commute is underway, and we encourage everyone to slow down. Our team has responded to a handful of crashes in the last two hours. In fact, while one of our officers was responding to a crash on SR 2, another car lost control and hit his vehicle. Thank goodness no one was hurt, but this is a great reminder to move over when you see emergency vehicles and slow down!"

As always drivers should remember to take extra time when leaving home today and use caution in icy or slushy areas.
