Local law enforcement participates in Hair for the Holidays
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. - Law enforcement agencies in Kosciusko County have partnered together to raise funds for Christmas with a Cop this holiday season.
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 149 is hosting the project in an effort to improve relationships between community youths and law enforcement officers.
In addition to improving community relations, the project hopes to also provide clothing and toys to those in need by sponsoring a local family.
From November 1 through the end of the year, employees and staff members can pay to participate in the event each month.
Male employees are able to grow beards and females are entered into a salon day raffle if they choose to donate and participate.
In January, a dinner will be held to mark the end of the project, during which the men will shave their beards and a winner will be drawn for the salon raffle.
