Local dancers learn choreography for national television

A group of dancers in Elkhart took part in National Dance Day, and hope to be featured in the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance."

National Dance Day, the brainchild of Nigel Lythgoe, a judge on the show, is a national campaign to promote dance as a way to lead a healthy lifestyle.  To raise awareness, a dance routine is choreographed to a piece of music.  Dancers from across the country have a chance to learn the routine, video themselves performing it, and submit it to So You Think You Can Dance, in hopes of being featured.

Local dancers used the Elkhart County 4-H Fair to gather dancers to take part in this campaign.

The Elkhart County 4-H is featuring a wide range of dance performances, including hip hop and step, to participate in the national campaign as well.
