ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- On Wednesday at approximately 5:10 p.m. Clay Fire was dispatched to the 140 block of David Street on the report of a structure fire.
Upon arriving, firefighters found smoke coming from a detached garage.
The owner of the property was able to exit the home, after hearing a loud boom from a lightning strike and her home losing power.
No one was hurt from the fire, with the garage sustaining smoke, fire, and water damage.
The fire is still under investigation, but a lightning strike is believed to be the cause of the fire.
