SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Zone 6 within the city of South Bend is up today for leaf pickup.
The zone combines 2 areas:
- One on the east side of town between the river and McKinley Ave (north-to-south) and between Ironwood Dr and S Logan St (east-to-west).
- One in Zone 6 is on the south side of town near Gulivoire Park and the 4-H Fairgrounds.
There are still 3 other zones in the coming days and weeks that will have their leaves picked up - Zones 7 (Nov. 15), 8 (Nov. 20), and 9 (Nov. 27).
A few things to remember as you prepare your leaf piles to be picked up: rake the leaves to the tree lawn, not in the road and make sure that the leaves are out by 6am the morning of your pickup. Remove sticks and trash from your leaf piles, and don’t leave your car parked on or in front of piles. Burning leaves is not allowed, so it’s best to take advantage of the leaf pickup as it comes through your neighborhood.
You can also schedule an extra pickup if needed online.
