LaPorte County deputies investigating single vehicle fatality crash

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. – LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a crash this morning at 12:55 a.m. where the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames in a ditch off of the west-side of SR 39.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that a white 2015 Hyundai Tucson had been traveling south of SR 39 when it entered a curve.

For an unknown reason, the driver failed to navigate said curve and traveled straight off the roadway along an embankment before colliding head-on with a tree.

The driver was alone and was pronounced dead at the scene, stated the report.
